Silence is one of the hardest arguments to refute.

A silence comes within us all,
When we with darkness again fall;
A shadow creeping softly stays,
And show its vision many ways.
Everything my brain still knows,
Step by step into silences goes;
Dreams and feelings down it breaks,
Away my visions all it takes.

When I am alone and streets I walk,
Silences to me softly talk;
About the heart that was here before,
But is now gone for ever more.

A lonesome soul just only knows,
The restless silence that never goes;
Sharp and shining like a razor blade,
A forgotten love song now too late.
That echoed once from heart to heart,
With promises to never depart;
But now lies resting on its own,
Like silences that are still alone.

Anything that cannot be expressed by words can easily be expressed through silence.

Silence is not an argument. It’s the absence of any argument.

In fact silence is nothing and everything at the same time.So you cant use the word absence for silence.And it could be considered an unfettered argument or on the other hand a polite acceptance.

Sameer, thanks for the reaction. I wanted a reaction to what I said. :)

I think an argument is a dynamic thing. To punctuate it with silence (either as an unbound form of reaction or a ’polite acceptance’ only ends the argument. So, in effect, there’s no argument anymore! :)

Your welcome Grace, Yups, perfect way of ending a conversation whether you accept or deny something.Actually not so perfect when you deny :) few tend to take it on a loosing note.

Anyways another oldie but a goodie - ”silent and listen”, some hardly seem to notice the similarity of the two words.For those still not able to notice letters used are same.

Hehe... you’re right, Sameer! Those two words contain the same letters. And hopefully the same purpose? :)

Nicely written! I agree that silence comes within us all and at times silence is the best way of conversation but I think too much of silence hurts. At times speaking out what all you have in your heart creates wonders and strengthens your relationships.....
